For more than fifty years Susan K. Burgess has painted on-site (plein air) in her native coastal New England, as well as on travels to parts of southwestern United States, Italy, Portugal, and the Caribbean, combining a keen eye with her love of nature and exploration. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art, a Master’s equivalence in Art Education, and Graduate Certificates in both Management and Graphic Design. In addition, she continues to take workshops in specialized aspects of plein air painting. Parallel with her plein air painting career, she taught art to children in public schools and to senior citizens in senior enrichment programs, established a community art gallery and managed the group sales department of a world-class museum. She is an award-winning juried artist member of both Marblehead (MA) Arts Association and Cambridge (MA) Art Association.
